Why a New, Private, Christian School Dedicated to Fine Arts?

When we first started announcing the school last year, I asked the question about "Why a New Christian School?". But after attending the bootcamp and thinking through the idea more precisely, I want to get more specific with our "Why", and even more specific than that: Why a Christian school dedicated to the Arts?

Any artist who sings, dances, plays an instrument, acts, or creates, and more importantly, those who are inspired by these artists understands the importance of the arts in our lives! The arts help shape our thoughts and perceptions. Whether that be through music, movies, TV shows, plays, photographs, dance, sculptures, architecture, design, drawings, portraits, paintings, or any other type of artistic creation: Art influences and almost shapes our lives.

Just looking around my own house, everything is in my house is an artistic creation and expression of our faith and beliefs: all of the furniture, pictures, paintings and crosses on our walls, hand-painted pitchers & plates from around the globe, candle stands & lanterns, metal decor, various crosses of different shapes, colors, and sizes, mirrors with carved frames, forged blades with artistically created handels and stands, and the list could go on.

There is a DEMAND for the arts in every area of our lives, and more importantly: Recently, there has been a significant increase in the demand for Faith-Based/Christian and pure art. As we have witnessed by the huge response to TV shows like The Chosen, movies like "Courageous", paintings and art works by Vanessa Horabuena, the huge fan base for music artists like Lindsey Stirling, and all of the new and upcoming Christian artists on the radio today. There is also a demand for pure dance and visual art.

So why a new Christian School DEDICATED to fine arts?

There is a significant increase in demand for faith-based/Christian art. Christian art is significantly underrepresented, which means there is a huge opportunity for Christian artists to minister and influence our culture for Christ: The mission field is HUGE!! We NEED more Christian artists out in the world! Our mission at PAFANTX is "To Launch Christian Artists who Use their Talents to Bring People to Christ".

As far as I know, we are the ONLY private, Christian school in Texas that is dedicated to the arts, and one of only TWO in the nation!!

We have a HUGE ministry opportunity through the school to disciple students who will in turn disciple others through their gifts and talents!!
